Get on a bicycle and ride through the historic city of Polonnaruwa where you can enjoy the scenery while discovering the city’s extensive history that spans centuries. To witness the breathtaking beauty of this cavern make sure to visit the Dambulla Cave Temples on your next trip. This network of caves provides insight into the life of Lord Buddha by displaying his various lives. There is also an impressive collection of over 150 statues found within.
Start your journey to Kandy by leaving Dambulla and making a detour to Sigiriya. You can explore the Rock Fortress which is well-known for its captivating tales and alluring murals. Arrive in Kandy early enough to visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic which is well-known for its unique architecture and priceless Tooth Relic.

The sixth day is spent travelling to Nuwara Eliya in the Sri Lankan highlands, stopping to see the stunning Ramboda Falls. Explore amazing tea factories that produce fragrant tea that is consumed globally. Visit this plantation to see tea pluckers delicately plucking the tea leaves that will be turned into the famous tea of Sri Lanka.
Visit Hortain Plains in the early morning on day seven. Hike the trails that lead to the famous World’s End and get up close and personal with a variety of wildlife. Admire the striking scenery that envelops this thrilling site as you stare off into the horizon that overlooks the sight. You will truly feel as if you have reached the end of the road of the world.
Set out on the most picturesque and magnificent train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella. Don’t miss the Ravana Ella, a magnificent sight where you can stop and rest. Take this time to look at the breathtaking scenery and picturesque opportunities. Travel to Udawalawwe from Ella to check into your accommodation.
Experience a safari jeep tour in the Udawalawe National Park where you will see a variety of mammals as well as marine and avian wildlife. You will also be treated to stunning views of plains and valleys. After finishing this exciting activity, proceed to Sinharaja, the location of the Sinharaja Nature Reserve.
You can enter the Sinharaja Rainforest with an experienced guide. Discover the varied flora fauna and wildlife while hiking through this lush rainforest. Leave Sinharaja and travel to Galle which is situated on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Most famously, this beach city is home to numerous artefacts from earlier colonists. The Galle Dutch Fort is the primary destination for both locals and visitors as it is a monument that was abandoned many years ago, yet still holds its shape, making it Asia’s best-preserved sea fort.
