Continue to Negombo, a coastal town known for its vibrant fish markets, Dutch canals and sandy beaches after arriving in Sri Lanka. Explore the busy streets or relax on the beach.
On the dawn of day two, make your way to Sigiriya where you will take on the challenge of hiking the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a challenging hike that allows you to view the frescoes that adorn the rocky walls. On day two, head to Miineriya for a safari through the Minneriya Safari Park. It is where you can see various animals such as elephants, deer and buffalo. After this thrilling journey, head on a village tour.
Head to Kandy, and on the way stop at Dambulla on the way. Visit the Dambulla Golden Cave Temple where you can see murals of Lord Buddha that showcase his different lives. Once in Kandy explore the architecture of the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The architecture and artworks found here make it a distinguishable location. In the evening, join the crowd to view a traditional dance show.
On your way to Nuwara Eliya, stop at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya where you can enjoy the romantic allure of this stunning garden filled with colourful flowers and tall trees. Make a pit stop at Ramboda Falls to take some pictures to commemorate this moment. Tour the city of Nuwara Eliya and explore the tea plantations where the famous tea of Sri Lanka is created. Then explore the city of this cool-climate region.
Head to Bentota via Kitulgala where you will spend some time. Put your wet suits on and strap yourselves into the raft to take on white water rafting. After this fun excursion, head to Bentota where you can visit the turtle hatchery that specialises in preserving the lives of the 6-7 species of turtles that arrive in Sri Lankan beaches. If you wish to, make your way to the deep sea to try your hand at deep-sea fishing or diving.
