When you arrive in Sri Lanka, take in the pleasant weather. Get to Negombo and unwind for the rest of the day.
Begin your day by visiting the Chilaw temples of Munneswaram and Mannarai. These temples are well known for their beautiful architecture as well as their religious significance. To continue your journey, travel to Kandy, the capital city renowned for its thriving culture. Visit The Holy Temple of the Tooth Relic and the bustling local market to begin your city tour as soon as you arrive. Appreciate the sensational architecture of this temple that is incomparable. Visit the market where you can see locals spending time doing their daily shopping.
When you get to Nuwara Eliya, don’t forget to visit the two primary Ramayana sites, Sri Baktha Hanuman Kovil and Seetha Amman Kovil. Savour the stunning vistas of this hill country which is renowned for its tea plantations and chilly climate. Enjoy the cool and refreshing atmosphere that complements the green hills with misty tops.
On the fourth day, depart from Nuwara Eliya and make your way to Bandarawela, a charming hill city encircled by dense tea plantations and large mountains. See Divurumpola, the location where Sita is supposed to have met the Agni Pariksha in the Ramayana, and Gayathri-Peedam, a tranquil Hindu shrine dedicated to the goddess Gayathri.
On the fifth day arrive in Ella and explore the well-known Ravana Caves and Ravana Falls which may have an association with the Ramayana. Explore the holy temple at Kataragama, a significant Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimage site.
Start your day off right by going to the famous Lord Murugan Temple in the morning. Discover Ussangoda, a unique coastal area suspected of being the landing spot for Hanuman on his search for Sita. Your full-day tour will continue with visits to the Seenigama Temple in Hikkaduwa and the Sri Anjaneyar Temple in Colombo following your visit to the historically significant Rumassala Temple in Galle.
Visit the energetic city of Colombo if you have time and then go to the airport to leave Sri Lanka.
