Set out toward Sigiriya after being picked up at the airport. Stop by the Dambulla Cave Temples on the way. Once inside, you will be greeted by the sight of rocky walls covered in paintings of Lord Buddha. These colourful murals each have their own depiction of Lord Buddha’s various lives. Also, take note of the vivid statues which showcase Lord Buddha in various forms which are scattered throughout the cave network. Following your arrival, you will spend the first night in Sigiriya.
Explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the early morning. It is renowned for its remarkable architecture and impressive technology which can still be seen today, despite being built centuries ago. Following this, travel to Kandy, making a stop en route at the Matale Alu Viharaya. Before continuing on your journey take in the captivating views of this magnificent temple. Experience ‘Udarata Culture’ by arriving in Kandy in time to see a magnificent cultural dance.
Visit the Holy Temple of the Tooth Relic first thing in the morning to witness the morning blessings. Afterwards, you can explore this incredible city and learn about the local way of life and culture. Before heading to the final location Colombo, you will have the opportunity to visit the stunning Peradeniya Botanical Garden. The alluring sights of tall trees decorating the pathway into the garden will lure you in. Once inside, enjoy impressive grounds that are scattered with flowers of vivid shapes and colours. After enjoying a romantic stroll through this garden, return to your vehicle to make your way to Colombo. Once you arrive, head to your accommodation to rest for the night.
Set out early in the morning to explore this gem of a city. Walk through bustling markets where different goods are sold, explore luxurious malls and try out unique delicacies and fusion cuisine. Finally, after purchasing some trinkets as memorabilia, make your way to the airport to depart Sri Lanka.
